1. Climate Change

Our handling of climate change is perhaps the most critical area within sustainability due to its far-reaching consequences for the environment, society, and economy. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting renewable energy, and implementing sustainable land use are crucial to addressing climate change.

2. Biodiversity

The UN defines biodiversity as: “The variety of living organisms in all environments, both on land and in water, as well as the ecological interactions these organisms engage in. Biodiversity encompasses both the variation within and between species and the diversity of ecosystems.” Protecting biodiversity and preserving ecosystems are fundamental to maintaining a resilient and healthy planet. This can be achieved through conservation work, sustainable agriculture and forestry, and efforts to minimize habitat destruction.
