The young princess is playing with toy ships in a little lake together with a poor boy. The sun is shining, it is a lovely summer’s day, and everything is perfect.

''Once upon a time, there was a poor boy and a rich girl who were equal.''

The notion of equality

It should go without saying that all people are equals, regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexuality, titles, class, religion, impairments or other differences. Nevertheless, there is a tendency for some people to feel inferior and for others to feel superior – just as some people treat some people as inferior and others as superior. We are all human beings; we have different backgrounds, but we have the same fundamental needs and emotions. Every single person on earth is rooted in and shaped by the culture they are a part of. Our cognitive capacity is similarly varied.
