The geriatric stonemason is bullying a young noblewoman while the wizard slaps his forehead in shock and disbelief over his father’s boorish behaviour.
"Once upon a time, there was an insecure man who was a bully."
The notion of bullying
A bully may be a physically or mentally strong, somewhat aggressive, insecure and boorish person who is really seeking contact, a thrill or a brief boost to his or her confidence at the expense of someone else by excluding the person from the group. Bullies often have low self-esteem and empathy.
They are quick to physical or psychological violence, compared to most people, which reflects their social incompetence and impotence. The person who is bullied is blameless and should be supported to call the bullying out, so that the bully can receive relevant support for his or her personal development. The source of the problem is the bully, who needs help in the form of an active intervention. The bullying and the bully should be addressed in the group, and the causes of bullying should be revealed and understood.
